Artificial Intelligence (AI) Terms
Effective Date: December 19, 2025
These AI Terms govern your use of artificial intelligence–enabled features made available by PubNub as part of its products and services ("AI Features"). These AI Terms supplement PubNub’s Terms and Conditions located at the "Terms". These terms are incorporated into and form part of the agreement that governs your use of PubNub’s Services (such as the Master Subscription Agreement). If there is a conflict, these AI Terms apply to your use of AI Features.
Access to AI Features
AI Features are provided to you subject to the same terms, conditions, and restrictions that apply to the PubNub Services generally, including PubNub’s Acceptable Use Policy and PubNub’s Terms and Conditions.
Opt-In Use. AI Features are optional and are only enabled when a customer chooses to use or activate them. PubNub does not enable AI Features for customers by default.

Fees and Pricing. AI Features may be offered as premium add-ons and may be subject to additional fees. Pricing and availability for AI Features are described on PubNub’s pricing page.
Inputs, Outputs, and Ownership
You may provide prompts, data, or other content to AI Features ("Input") and receive content generated by AI Features based on that Input ("Output").
As between you and PubNub:
You retain all rights in your Input and Output
PubNub retains all rights in the Services and AI Features, including any improvements or enhancements.
Due to the nature of artificial intelligence, Output may not be unique and similar outputs may be generated for other customers.
Use of Customer Data
PubNub uses Input solely to provide the AI Features and generate Output for you.
PubNub does not use Customer Data to train PubNub or third-party AI models unless expressly agreed in writing. PubNub may use aggregated and de-identified usage data to improve the performance, reliability, and security of its Services.
AI Limitations and Human Review
AI Features generate Output automatically and probabilistically. Output:
Is not reviewed or verified by PubNub;
May be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for certain use cases;
Does not represent PubNub’s views or advice.
You are responsible for evaluating Output for accuracy and suitability, including applying appropriate human review before relying on Output.
Acceptable Use of AI Features
You may not use AI Features:
In violation of applicable law;
To make fully automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on individuals without meaningful human involvement;
To misrepresent Output as being human-generated, PubNub-approved, or guaranteed to be accurate;
To train, fine-tune, or improve competing AI or real-time infrastructure products.
Third-Party AI Providers
Some AI Features may rely on third-party AI models or services. Your use of AI Features is subject to applicable third-party acceptable use requirements, and PubNub is not responsible for limitations inherent to third-party AI technologies.
Changes to These AI Terms
PubNub may update these AI Terms from time to time. The effective date above will be updated to reflect material changes. Continued use of AI Features constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
